Our Black Barn kitchen - the epitome of bespoke!
As I stepped in to this beautiful, beautiful living-space, I couldn’t help but say “WOW”. It just sort of fell out my mouth as I stood there, taking it all in. Our Black Barn kitchen really (really really really) has the wow-factor.
This incredibly pretty open-plan living-space is abundant in character, quirkiness and rustic charm. And, if I’m being completely honest, it couldn’t be more ‘up my street’ if it tried!
The space combines modern and traditional styles with a few fantastic pieces of vintage-like furniture that elevate this design to something really special. The classic Shaker-style cabinetry is painted in Farrow and Ball’s breathtaking Hague Blue, decorated with Armac Martin copper hardware and topped with hardwearing white Cimstone worktops - resulting in the perfect combination!
It goes without saying that our Black Barn kitchen is thoroughly bespoke - I think it’s kinda obvious too. I mean, just look at those gorgeous beams! How clever are our designers? Very.
The owners of Black Barn have three young children, so a practical space to accommodate family-living was a must. However, nowadays kitchens have become so much more than practical rooms to cook in. They are places to show off personality and style; a place to hang out, enjoy lazy Sunday mornings, drinks with friends and chat about how the school day went! The Black Barn living-space absolutely epitomises this and looking into this kitchen gives you a real sense of the fun and super cool family who live here.
The kitchen is home to a rather cool crockery and tea corner cupboard - hiding away mugs and endless types of tea and coffee. Another cupboard displays cocktail-making essentials - ready for the weekend! Both have beautiful internal lighting and bespoke adjustable shelving to suit the requirements of our customers. Another wonderful feature of Black Barn is the family-sized larder, which has been custom-made with solid oak internals, spice racks and worktop space perfect for breakfast-making. The ideal place for hiding away sweeties too - who can spot them?
Some appliances in this kitchen have been cleverly integrated within the cabinetry. Behind those tall Shaker-cupboard doors - next to the fabulously HUGE statement mirror - sits a Siemens fridge and freezer. And, the central island homes a slim Caple wine-cooler - everyone needs one of these, no? There are so many other things I love about this space; from the rustic terracotta flooring to the creative hanging lights. It really is something quite special. Plus, Collins Bespoke were also asked to undertake all the joinery for this project too - something which we are really proud of!
