We should do this more often.

And, I am sure so many other small businesses and workplaces say the same - I mean, life takes over - but really - we should.

Poignantly, October is the month of the year when Mental Health and Well-Being is promoted most. And, on Friday, the Collins Bespoke team downed their tools and took to the forest.

We went to Go Ape! at Leeds Castle and it was wonderful. It was also very much needed.

There is something about being in a beautiful setting and challenging yourself out of your comfort-zone that is quite cathartic. With lengthy zip-wires, sketchy bridge-walks and scary drops, all at quite a height, our team certainly did their share of catharsis. And, we have all had quite a year - or so - therefore, this was such a release.

Also, we learnt a lot more about each other than we knew - and, some of us have worked with each other for years. I mean, I have even taught some of the team!

We learnt how bravely some of the team tackled their fear of heights; we learnt how much some of the team really want to achieve well; we learnt that some quieter members are really quite daring and adventurous; some are really quite competitive! Mostly, we learnt that they are all are patient and supportive.

I learnt how well the workshop and office teams know each other, too. Working with each other day-in and day-out, they will.

But. This means a lot to me.

We need to know each other well - not only to do our jobs well - in our case, designing and making our beautiful kitchens - when we are in-sync, the flow goes so well. But, we really, really need to know each other well to support each other and be there for one another; to check in on each other and to pick up on when one of us needs a little help.

Equally, I have been told there was a little more spring to their steps, Monday morning. And, chocolates!

Going out and doing these things are necessary. For all of us. I must plan more.

Thank you, Team CB. We appreciate everything.
